Baby/Toddler Pants from a T-shirt

last week i recycled my old long-sleeved t-shirt to baby/toddler pants. it was a simple project. i spent just one hour to make it done. yippie, finally i made it. here is the 'before and after' pictures:

and here is the step-by-step pictures:

for whom i made that pants? of course they're for the kids in the daycare where i've been working since the beginning of september 2011.

actually, i made those pants because i've seen accidents happening several times already: the kids pee themselves. obviously their clothes (esp. pants) needed to be changed, but they often didn't bring any clean clothes for that.

so, i wanna make some pants and put them as emergency supplies in my working room. i will then just take them out, when i need them later.

if you wanna make them too, you can see this tutorial video:

apple fest & cloth menstrual pad

this weekend, i and my friend Tasha went to the apple fest held by the residence services. i actually didn't know what Apple Fest is, but my husband said that it was related to halloween. of course i don't celebrate halloween. i went there simply because i was curious about it.

the apple fest wasn't a big fest, but it was certainly fun. there were a lot of food, in particular food that were made of apple. for example: apple pie, apple muffin, apple cookies, and apple cider. there was also an interesting painting activity. everyone who's interested was given an empty frame or a pumpkin on which they could paint whatever they want. when they're done, the painted frame of pumpkin can be brought home for free. as for me, i didn't do any paintings, but i got a nice t-shirt instead.

for my weekend project, i made a cloth menstrual pad. i wanted to make it since a few months ago, but i was only able to do it this weekend.

i brought the materials from walmart close to the fairfield mall - beavercreek, OH. since i don't have a car, i went there with the weekly shopping shuttle provided by the residence services.
if you're interested in making it, just google the following keywords "make cloth menstrual pad". then you'll find many written tutorials or videos.

ok, see you on my next project:)

fall season & jeans tote bag

fall season is coming here. it's pretty cold sometimes, but luckily the weather during this week were so nice and warm. here are the pictures that i took through my apartment's window:

and these are the trees next to my apartment's dumpsters. i took those pictures when i threw away my trash this afternoon. see those red and yellowish leaves. i really love them. in one month those beautiful leaves will fall and all those trees will wither in the winter:(

enough about the leaves. now it's turn to talk about my weekend project (MWP). inspired by an entry in tia's blog, i made jeans tote bag. i recycled my old jeans pants that i never wear again. actually i almost throw away that pants. thankfully i read tia's blog and finally i made it. i love it and will make more someday.

whereas for the label on my tote bag, i made it when i was still in depok, indonesia. cause i still had some, so i brought them when i moved to the US last year.

ok, see you then:)
